Welcome to Cardy Cottage
Located in the picturesque and historic East Neuk (corner) of Fife, Cardy Cottage is a recently renovated (completed Jan 2012) Grade C listed two storey cottage built in 1865. It is finished in a contemporary style to a very high standard and features all the facilities you would expect from a modern holiday cottage. The cottage sleeps 4 in comfort and we are pet friendly
The cottage is owned and run by Simon and Becca Allan who between them have over 30 years experience in the tourism and hospitality industry and have used this experience to create accommodation that will meet your every need and be the centre piece of a perfect holiday. In September 2010 we were presented with a Gold award from Scottish Country Cottages for our other cottage (Kirkside), the highest accolade their customers can bestow on a property.
Situated in the pretty village of Lower Largo 50 metres from the sandy beach of Largo Bay, the cottage has open views over the Firth of Forth to Edinburgh, the Lothians and the Bass Rock. The village of Lower Largo is famed as the the birthplace of Alexander Selkirk (the real Robinson Crusoe) and features two very hospitable pubs; the Railway Inn and the Crusoe which are in easy walking distance from the cottage.
A number of walks and cycle routes of various length and difficultly emanate from Lower Largo and there is direct access from the cottage to one of the most picturesque sections of the Fife Coastal Path.
The East Neuk of Fife is well populated with restaurants catering for all tastes and party make ups, from cosy pubs and award winning fish and chips shops to Michelin stars and Gastro Pubs using fresh local ingredients particularly seafood.
